17 Useful Applications For Every Beauty Addict!!!

Hello, loves! I found this really awesome website (actually, a social networking site) that has cool posts in it, it's called Listicle. This website has a ton of articles and videos just about any topic there is on the planet.

Here are screenshots of what's in stored:

How does it work? Basically, you sign up in the website (for FREE) and it'll require you any social media networking account. Once you're done with that, you can go ahead with browsing, reading, watching videos, posting your own articles/videos on it and making your network grow! Yes, you can actually build up your connections with people from all over the world! Isn't that amazing? There's a "Follow" button on a member's profile, simply click on that to get updates in all of that person's posts.

I've seen video tutorials, articles about the member's monthly favorites, really cute videos of babies... ahhhhhh!!! The list goes on...

I believe that this is another platform that every blogger/vlogger should be in! Actually, blogger or not, I'm sure you'll enjoy hanging around at Listicle. Posts on Listicle can be shared to different social media networking sites like Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Google Plus etc.

To give you a "dip on the water", I found this article which I thought is very interesting. If you're a beauty bum like myself, I'm sure you'll be needing these apps on your smartphone to feed your beauty-savvy soul.

You can read the post here.

C'mmon and sign up already and don't forget to follow me in there, too! Ha ha ha!!! Here's my profile.

So.... see you there??? YES!!! :)

90's baby!

Good afternoon loves! I just finished my one-hour work out sesh and I'm currently enjoying this music playlist that I found on YouTube.

I'm in a state of nostalgia.

It's nice to listen to these hits again, I know ALL of the tracks!

I can't help but to dance to the tunes. :)

Are you a 90's baby, too?

P.S.
I filmed a new video this morning, I'm also doing a blog post about it. It has something to do with weight loss, work out or being busy...? :) Stay tuned!

REVIEW: Careline Oil Control Liquid Foundation

I bought this item January of this year and has been sitting on my makeup stash ever since; I finally got around to use it today with the intent of making a product review (that's why I bought it in the first place).

I posted a photo of this on my Instagram account (beautywithgeline) and I got quite a few negative feedback on it. Nevertheless, I didn't let those comments cloud my mind so I wouldn't give prejudice to it for my product review.

I got this because of these two words- OIL CONTROL. I have a combination to oily skin type and the quest for the best foundation to keep my oils at bay never stops.

I was strolling Robinson's Place Iloilo cosmetics section when I saw this. I then remembered a couple of my subscribers/followers asked me to review Careline products (another line of Ever Bilena) so I gave it a "go". This product costs 90 PHP (2 USD), quite affordable.

If my memory serves me right, this has 3 shades available- Natural being the lightest, Beige and I don't know the other one which is supposedly the darkest. I would usually gravitate to beige shades but at that time, it was out of stock. So, I braved myself in getting the only available shade which is Natural.

Here's the swatch:

I know it looks a tad bit lighter than my skin color in the picture, probably due to the lighting and the bad picture quality, but it blended well to my face when I used it today.

Size:
15ml

Consistency:
It's liquidy so be careful when you squeeze it out, we don't want it splashed especially on your clothes. :)

Scent:
A hint of vanilla.

Coverage:
I would say that it has a light coverage because on my first application, I can still see my  freckles peeking through. I had to stack up 3-4 applications to get a decent coverage. Light-weight.

Longevity:
My oils started to make its way out a few minutes after I applied it.

VERDICT:
This is quite disappointing for me. I always get excited and with high hopes every time I am about to try any oil control/matte foundation, but only a few have been decent with their promise of keeping my face dry upon usage. This product didn't do any mattifying on my face even when I set it with a powder foundation. P.S. It's been raining a lot today so the weather's cool.

Ginger for Weight Loss!

Okay, I must be honest that I'm a bit obsessed with the words "weight loss" and "diet". I would constantly research on ways and means; the more natural it is, the better but when it's natural and cheap, heck, it's the BEST! :)

I've been told that I don't need to lose weight anymore and I think they're probably right. However, I do have a loser for a metabolism. I gain weight pretty fast! If I would just give in to my pang for food, I'd look like a walking ball in no time. A little bit of history for y'all; I was a chubby girl as I was going through most of my elementary days. I had very low self-esteem to the point that I was wearing my dad's shirts when I was on my 6th grade! Everyone I knew back then thought I'd turn out lesbian, but to their shock(in a good way), I became a beauty queen on my teen years. Tee hee! :)

So much blabbering, let's get down into business. I featured here on my blog last time the lemon as my way of losing weight. Now, there's an additional one.

Welcome aboard, Ginger!

study by researchers at the Institute for Human Nutrition at Columbia University found that adding a hot ginger beverage to the diet of human subjects made them feel fuller after a meal and less likely to eat more later. “The results, showing enhanced thermogenesis and reduced feelings of hunger with ginger consumption, suggest a potential role of ginger in weight management,” the researchers said, calling for additional studies to confirm the findings.

I've been testing out this beverage for days now; it comprises of lemon, ginger and hot water. I toss in slices of lemon and ginger into the hot water, let it sit for 15 minutes, remove all of it,squeeze out the juice of the lemon to the water then drink. A friend of mine even made a revision of this, she made use of honey instead of water. Honey masks the sourness of lemon and it is also good for weight loss.

I find that this drink curbs my cravings. This is helpful especially now that I'm PMS-ing (Premenstrual Syndrome). I used to eat and crave food (especially chocolates) like a pregnant woman before I discovered this!

Now, this might not work for everyone. It's really a trial and error.

KIMspiration: Trust and Hold On

Sharing to you the wonderful fact about the fruit, Mangosteen, which was told to me by one of the brilliant men that I know.

A Mangosteen tree actually takes a long time to grow but once it blossoms, and starts producing fruits, it never stops!

We can never get everything that we want in life "pronto". More often than not, we need to WORK HARD, PERSEVERE and most importantly, NEVER GIVE UP when the pacing seems to be slow; you're outrun by problems and discouragements (especially from those people whom you least expected). Remember your "DEEP WHY"; why did you aim for it in the first place?

Why did you hold on?

Trust that it will be yours in God's perfect time.

When you feel like quitting in anything that you do, please remember the story of the Mangosteen.

SMART Keeps the Good Going Via PayITFwd

Extraordinary deeds by ordinary people can make a positive difference in this world. It can be the retiree who trains the unemployed women in the community on livelihood crafts, or the group of athletes that holds sports clinics for street children.

Wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is giving these acts of kindness a further boost by way of payITfwd, a new social development initiative that aims to enable the spread of social good acts or ‘smart acts’ using technology.

“The goal is to support, promote, expand, enhance, reward and enable social good efforts that foster learning through technology.  With payITfwd, social good advocates can scale up and even encourage the public to support their cause,” said Ramon Isberto, head of Smart Public Affairs Group.

Through the initiative, Smart is looking for individuals or groups that are already doing community-based projects that contribute to learning or expansion of knowledge in various fields such as education, environment, disaster preparedness, health, livelihood and sports.

Entries must be submitted in video format showing an overview of the project, its impact to the recipient community, and how technology can enable the project or further spread its benefits.

Smart will be selecting the best 20 entries in a two-round selection process that will run from May 21 up to July 31, and August 16 to October 31 this year. Entries will be judged based on the impact of the project in the community, its novelty and proposed use of technology.  Voting of best entries via social media will also have bearing on the final score of entries.

Each of the selected social good advocates, 10 for each round, will receive a technology package comprising five tablets, 1 Smart Bro Pocket Wi-Fi, Smart Bro load worth P3,000.00, and a cash prize of P50,000.

“While technology can facilitate efficiencies in operations and help expand reach, access to these is often a luxury for community-based initiatives. The program will allow them easy access to such technology simply by reporting what they have already done and are targeting to achieve with the help of technology. This utilizes Smart’s technology solutions to help the spread of social good,” said Stephanie Orlino, Smart Public Affairs manager for education programs.

“Technology not only increases access to learning but enables these smart acts to spread its benefits to more communities thus keeping the 'good' going,” added Orlino.

In launching this initiative, Smart hopes to increase learning opportunities of target communities through technology.

REVIEW: Silk Secrets One Minute Hot Oil Treatment

My hair's at its worst; it became dull, dry and lifeless. The reason was I totally took off the rail when it comes to my beauty regimens plus the chemical treatments.

Now that I think I've a little spare time, I should get off my butt and start going back to what I used to be ; OA with beauty regimens.. or a little less than that.

I saw my friend, Mae Rose of Patrine's Thoughts', haul/review a couple of months ago. She was raving about this One-Minute Hot Oil Treatment which she uses as her everyday deep conditioner. I thought I could try it too since we have the same problem. Hahahaha!

ITS PROMISE:

Silk Secrets One Minute Hot Oil Treatment moisturizes hair thoroughly and penetrates quickly into every hair strands, it effectively revitalizes refreshes and adds shine to hair.

PACKAGING:

I think that its packaging is just okay for its purpose.

SCENT:

It has this smell of a typical shampoo or conditioner being used in salons (Philippine-setting).

LASTING POWER:

It lasted for a month with everyday usage.

PRICE AND SIZE:

169.75 php ( 350 g)

WHERE I BOUGHT THIS:

I bought this in SM department store; you can also find this in any Watsons store.

OVERALL:

I am not raving about this. Didn't do anything to my hair; the promise of moisture and shine's no where to be found.  This should be a very promising product especially for women (and men) who are always on the go, since it only requires a minute before rinsing it off. I like that it has this minty-after-shower feeling though; totally refreshes my scalp.
